A working model inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing from Codex Atlanticus of his 15th century trebuchet. While trebuchets were common siege engines in medieval times, Leonardo’s design was unique and used one main mast. It was thought to have been made for the Duke of Milan in 1482 to impress the Duke with his engineering skills. It is not known if it was ever used in battle.
