Oak Bowl Blanks 27mm thick
Size variations
Our bowl blanks are cut directly from the kiln-dried boards we receive from our supplier. The thickness of these boards can vary slightly due to natural variations in the wood and the drying process.
The thickness advertised is a nominal size and the actual thickness can vary by up to +/- 3mm. In most cases the actual thickness will be within 1mm of the advertised size.
Oak circular blanks for woodturning - 27 mm thickness
All of our oak blanks are kiln dried with exception to our 4” stock, which is air dried for seven years. We convert native oak on the premises and to ensure a constant supply we also import oak from respected sawmills in France. The heartwood is light to medium brown, and can be worked to a fine finish. Oak takes glue well and can be stained, textured, and scorched before taking a final finish.
