Tulipwood Carving Blanks 100mm Thick
Our Tulipwood caving blanks are cut directly from the kiln-dried boards we receive from our supplier. The thickness of these pieces can vary slightly due to natural variations in the wood and the drying process.
The thickness advertised is a nominal size and the actual thickness can vary by up to +/- 3mm. In most cases the actual thickness will be within 1mm of the advertised size.
The heartwood is light cream to yellowish brown, with occasional streaks of grey or green. The sapwood is pale yellow to white, not always clearly demarcated from the heartwood.
The grain is straight and fine. Easy to work to a smooth surface and stains and finishes well. It works for wood carving and is easy to work with.
All Blanks are rough sawn 100mm thickness, on the above drop down the width is the first dimension and the length is the second dimension.
